MAGNETS ON THE FRIDGE - POETRY COLLECTION PUBLISHED
Seven years into writing poems, five months into editing and finally my debut poetry collection is out and recieved with so much love. Aspiring to be an author is a solo act and putting the work on the world stage is the conclusion of it. From there, one ceases to be the owner of the work. It is for the world to adopt it, love it, abandon it or make a home in it. I have put my work on the world stage and have heard few applauses, a couple of whistles and some incessant whispers. It is reaching out with its arm stretched and with the hope that the work finds a home in people as it did in me for the longest.
I am beyond elated to see this happen. To live through this beautiful journey and with so much life in me. At best, this post is a thank you not for all the people who have been a constant support in the journey which began when my teacher read my first piece in school and said, most innocently, that writing was my calling. I am begining to see the truth in her words.
